In a statement sent to VerAngola, the bank confirms the registration of a positive case, stating that it is "providing full support to the employee and his family".
It also adds that the employee in question is being properly monitored by the health authorities.
Standard Bank says the worker belongs "to a back office area that operates at headquarters and not at a bank branch". The bank ensures that all floors of the bank's facilities, namely the Malange and Kuanda-Kubango buildings, as well as the two branches located in Belas Business Park, were properly disinfected during the past weekend.
The bank also mentions that the safety of employees, customers and partners is its main priority, so that the necessary measures were taken "immediately" to identify all employees who had the closest contact with the confirmed case. These employees were "sent to immediate home quarantine and are already being tested for covid-19".
