Week starts with 86 covid-19 infected in Angola

The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, announced this Sunday two new cases of infection by covid-19 in Angola, bringing the total number to 86.

This is a 45-year-old Angolan woman, residing in Sapu, (municipality of Viana, Luanda) and who contacted one of the cases of the Multiperfil clinic cord.

Due to his various contacts, the authorities have also instituted a sanitary cord in the condominium where he lives, said Franco Mufinda.

The second case, a 36-year-old man living on the island of Cabo, resulted from direct contact with another infected person.

Angola currently registers 86 infected, of which four died, 18 recovered, and 64 active, including one that "requires special attention".

More than 10,000 samples were collected, of which 9667 negative and 86 positive, the rest being processed.

1044 people are in institutional quarantine.

Globally, according to a report by the AFP news agency, the covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 369,000 deaths and infected more than 6 million people in 196 countries and territories.

More than 2.5 million patients were considered cured.
