The meeting is the sixth since February 2022 and this time “peace and security”, multilateralism and prosperity for both blocs will be discussed, as well as “populations, migration and mobility”, according to information provided by the EU Council.
The meeting will be chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, and the Angolan Foreign Minister, Tete António, who is also responsible for the African Union's executive council.
At a time of “geopolitical volatility”, Africa “is a geopolitical priority” for the European Union, the EU itself considered in the information it made available ahead of this meeting.
At the same time, the European political-economic bloc recalled that it is the main support for these African countries and that it has contributed to investments in those nations.
“The EU and Africa can be a powerful force when they act together,” Brussels added.
