Luanda's public transport reinforced with 70 new buses

The capital's public transport was reinforced with 70 new buses. According to Amadeu Campos, director of Transport, Traffic and Urban Mobility of the Government of the Province of Luanda (GPL), these means will begin to circulate this month and will enable the opening of new routes.

:

The 70 buses – 31 of which are articulated – were delivered to public and private companies and, when they start operating, they will make it possible to open new routes, he said, speaking to Angop.

In the lists of routes to be opened there are the one that connects Benfica to Ramiros as well as the one from Ramiros to Barra do Kwanza.

Furthermore, these new means will also make it possible to open the Cassequel-Mutamba routes; Calemba II-KK-500 and Calemba-II-KM44.

The list of routes to be opened also includes the Rotunda do Camama-Zango 0; Camama-Luanda Sul roundabout; Viana-Calumbo village; Golf I-Porto and Mazozo-Catete.

Cited by Angop, the director of Transport, Traffic and Urban Mobility explained that the new buses will also strengthen the Porto-Ilha de Luanda and Largo das Escolas-Viana routes.

The capital currently has 54 of the 109 conjectured routes, writes Angop.

By the end of the year, the capital will have 650 new buses, however the objective for the province is to reach 900 buses.

It should be noted that transport in Benguela was also reinforced this Wednesday, with 24 buses. The funds were granted to private companies with a view to improving mobility in the region.
