Speaking at the end of a courtesy meeting with the provincial governor of Moxico, the Secretary of State for Transport admitted that "nobody is going to invest in a country that has difficulty moving around" and, therefore, "investment in this area" is important.
"It is an essentially productive area and naturally transport is a fundamental factor for us to be able to effectively promote this attraction of foreign investors as well", he said, quoted by the Public Television of Angola (TPA).
According to the official, in addition, the Ministry of Transport also wants to increase the number of trains at the CFB: "We are working so that in the near future we can make an investment with a view to acquiring new carriages and thus facilitating these journeys and, above all, to end up with some confusion that occurs with the train arriving".
Jorge Bengue also showed some concern about the vandalism that has been registered on the railway branches.
"We have some vulnerabilities from the point of view of vandalism that the fence was targeted. Here, naturally, with due coordination with the authorities, in this case the defense and security forces, in protection, we are going to prepare an investment to, with some prioritization, create more mechanisms effective in the perspective of preventing everything that we are seeing today, which are the vandalism of public property", he added, quoted by TPA.
