Members of the commission to combat the covid-19 pandemic tested negative

More than a hundred members of the multisectoral commission to prevent and combat covid-19 in Angola, including government officials, were tested, due to their exposure to the disease, with negative results, said the Secretary of State for Public Health.

Franco Mufinda, in the balance of the situation of the covid-19 in the country, currently with 35 positive cases, of which two deaths and 11 recovered, said this Monday that about 140 people were tested.

“As part of the intensification of the testing of risk groups, all members of the multisectoral commission, numbering around 140, including ministers of state, ministers, secretaries of state, support staff, escort elements of these entities, were all tested, being exposed people, taking into account the activity, and the outcome was negative ”, said Mufinda.

According to the governor, this action will be permanent, due to the exposure to which they are submitted, in the performance of the activity.

The number of deaths from covid-19 in Africa has risen to 1800, with more than 44,000 cases of the disease reported in 53 countries, according to the latest statistics on the continent's pandemic.
