The Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, announced five new cases of covid-19, one imported and four due to local contamination, bringing the total number in the country to 35.

The imported case was captured in the screening of the first 443 processed samples of passengers from Lisbon, on the 17th and 18th of March.

He is a 36-year-old man from Guinea-Conakry, a trader and resident in the Hoji Ya Henda Henda neighborhood, in Luanda, who did not comply with the quarantine and did not provide the correct data, the minister said.

The patient was referred to the referral treatment center and 25 of his direct contacts were transferred to institutional quarantine centers for follow-up and screening.

Among passengers from Lisbon, on the 17th and 18th of March, 1018 samples were collected, and 443 samples were processed, of which 442 were negative.

The cases of local contamination were direct contacts of patient No. 26, also from Lisbon: two women, 42 and 34 years old and two children, 4 years and 1 year old.

The patient is also related to the three positive cases announced on Thursday, having tested nine of his direct contacts (seven with positive results).

The remaining contacts continue to be followed, said the minister, adding that all new cases are asymptomatic.

Of the 35 cases, 11 are already recovered, 22 are hospitalized and there were two deaths.

908 people are in institutional quarantine, 412 suspected cases are being investigated and 957 contacts are "in follow-up".
