According to a statement from the municipal administration of Caluquembe, to which VerAngola had access, the hospital was built within the scope of the Integrated Intervention Plan in Municipalities (PIIM).

"After 23 years of peace and 50 years of independence, the municipality of Caluquembe marks a historic milestone with the inauguration of the first public municipal hospital. This is an infrastructure built within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), with capacity for more than 70 beds and equipped with essential services to serve the local population", says the note.

According to the municipal administration, this new hospital, which had "an investment of more than 879 million kwanzas", represents "a significant advance in access to primary and specialized health care".

"The opening of this hospital reinforces the interconnection between the municipality's health units, such as the IESA Hospital, and contributes to the decentralization of medical services, reducing the need for long trips to the city of Lubango," the statement also states.

It was up to the governor of the province of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, to inaugurate this hospital. In addition, the provincial governor also handed over two ambulances to the new hospital.

"The municipality of Caluquembe celebrates another historic step forward with the delivery of two modern ambulances to the recently opened municipal hospital, made by the provincial governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi", reads another statement from the municipal administration of Calumquembe, to which VerAngola had access.

These means allow the hospital to be autonomous and efficient when it comes to transporting patients.

"With these new vehicles, the hospital unit gains autonomy and efficiency in transporting patients, strengthening the interconnection with other health institutions, such as the IESA Hospital", points out the note, which adds that the new hospital infrastructure "offers multiple services, from laboratory services, hematology, hospitalization, general medicine, emergency room, pediatrics, maternity ward equipped with modern means".
