According to Tulinabo Mushingi, US ambassador to Angola, 2.6 million dollars are being invested in carrying out the inventory: "We are investing 2.6 million dollars to carry out the inventory. Then we will launch the program that will link protection and economic development with 7.5 million dollars", he said, quoted by Angop.

On the occasion, the official also took the opportunity to explain that the said program is part of the efforts of his country's executive, in order to promote sustainable ecosystems, as well as help communities to improve their means of livelihood, while also safeguarding vital natural resources, writes Angop.

The diplomat also stressed that Angola has many natural resources. "Your forests have millions of metric tons of carbon in living forest biomass and contain more than 1,500 species of amphibians, birds, mammals and reptiles," he added, quoted by Angop.

With development throughout the national territory, putting into practice the Expansion Program of the Angolan Forestry Inventory will establish good prospects, as well as stimulate the beekeeping potential and also important information about the social and economic nature linked to local communities, said André de Jesus Moda, quoted by Angop.

"Angola needs to carry out its second exercise of the National Forestry Inventory, consigned, within the framework of a cycle of every five years, with a view to updating and complementing the necessary information at the service of this important resource", pointed out André de Jesus Moda, quoted by Angop.

According to the person in charge, said information will contribute to the implementation of various projects and programmes, in particular the Integrated Management Program for the Miombo Forest Ecosystem.

He also left the assurance that the country is committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, through the development of various actions, including the approval of a forestry policy, among others, which highlights the Base Law on Forests and Fauna Wild and the related regulation "which reflect the vision, goals and strategic objectives of the Angolan State in relation to this purpose of sustainable management of forestry, faunal and beekeeping resources", said the Secretary of State, quoted by Angop.

It should be noted that the launch of the expansion program also aims to mark Earth Day, celebrated this Saturday, April 22nd.
