This is the second presentation of the album in Portugal, after a show in Espinho and a mini-tour that went through Germany, Holland and Switzerland.
This time, the stage of Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon, hosts a warm, vibrant show that materializes the band's collective sound that was explored in this latest work by Aline Frazão, says the artist in a statement.
In addition to the compositions of "Uma Música Angolana", the public can count on more intimate moments from his discography, such as "Dentro da Chuva", from his previous album.
This fifth album by Aline, who sings, plays and is a composer and producer, navigates between various rhythms of African origin, such as Massemba and Kilapanga from Angola, Batuku from Cape Verde, Soukous from Congo, Afoxé and Maracatu from Brazil.
"«Uma música angolana» is me. It is a possible sound universe of jazzy mixtures and improvisations, danced to a beat that comes from within the body, from within the feeling. Because reconnecting is necessary", says the artist.
At the end of February, in an interview with the Lusa agency, Aline Frazão said that this new work reflects all her "anxieties, doubts, uncertainties and fears", in addition to having "a party inside".
"We are living through dramatic moments, it is not very easy to have faith in humanity at this moment. The pandemic was a fatality that happened to us, but we have the case of the war that broke out in Europe and all this news is a little discouraging", then said the singer.
For the sample of this fifth album "Uma Música Angolana", the singer chose the theme "Luísa", a song that ends up bringing, once again, the theme of women to her repertoire.
"Women, in any profession, not just music, always have the feeling that they are not doing well enough. They have to be exceptional or absolutely perfect to be considered equal and to deserve an equitable payment. Luísa talks about this, not only on the part of motivation, but the importance of having women writing, singing, in all the arts", she said.
