Bonga honored in Portugal on his 83rd birthday

The career and legacy of singer-songwriter Bonga will be celebrated in Portugal at Fest Semba Lisboa. Scheduled for September 5th at LAV – Lisboa ao Vivo, the event will honor the Angolan singer, taking on an even more special meaning as it falls on the singer's 83rd birthday.

Promoted by Tons do Sul, the event begins at 9 pm and aims to celebrate the birthday of this "living legend."

"On September 5th, at LAV – Lisboa ao Vivo, we celebrate the birthday of a living legend, the greatest symbol of resistance, identity, and the semba that unites us all," wrote the organizer in a Facebook post seen by VerAngola.

Several well-known names will be joining this tribute party. According to the poster, the tribute will feature Eddy Tussa, Klaudio Hoshai, Patrícia Faria, Kanu André, Helvio, Paulo Flores, and Daniel Nascimento.

Tickets for this "night of tribute, emotion, and recognition" are now on sale, with prices ranging from 25 to 300 euros.
