Aline Frazão dedicates the first single, "Luísa", this Friday available on digital platforms, "to Luísas, Marias and Cecílias, Fernandas, Susanas and Luejis, Gingas, Lúcias and Lucindas of this world, those who no longer hide, those who don't give up anymore, those who won't stop using their voice", "that voice they use to invent", as one reads in the presentation of the album.
The music video for "Luísa" is also available on the official channel of the 'singer', informed her publisher.
"Luísa" is a song about "freedom to be, to create, to think, to speak, to sing and to scream for the possibility of existing without limits and fully, without compromise", adds the presentation note.
The theme is a "sample" of "Uma Música Angolana", an album that materializes the return to the collective sound of the singer's band.
"The album navigates between various rhythms of African origin, such as massemba and kilapanga from Angola, batuku from Cape Verde, soukous from Congo, afoxé and maracatu from Brazil - deconstructed, reinvented, claiming here not only the common origin to all of them but also imagining a new sound of lost borders, which is consolidated on a kind of imaginary homeland made of shared rhythmic memories, current struggles and necessary and urgent celebrations", adds the presentation.
The album features the participation of Angolan artist Nástio Mosquito, Brazilian singer Vítor Santana and German cellist Suzanne Paul.
Brisa Marques wrote lyrics for a melody composed by João Pires, and fado singer Ricardo Ribeiro composed an unpublished song for a poem by Pedro Homem de Melo. Aline Frazão also recovers a song by Paulo Flores, with a new arrangement.
Born in Luanda in 1988, Aline Frazão is considered one of the most relevant and international voices of the new generation of Angolan artists.
Singer, author, songwriter and music producer, she has released four albums: "Clave Bantu" (2011), "Movimento" (2013), "Insular" (2015) and "Dentro da Chu" (2018).
She is also the author of the original soundtrack of the Angolan film "Ar conditioning" (2020), and is currently touring internationally with Companhia Delbono and the theatrical show "Amore", by Italian Pippo Delbono.
Aline Frazão, in addition to working in music, writes (chronicles, essays and short stories), and belongs to the Ondjango Feminista association.
