July is the month indicated by the Minister of Transportation, Ricardo de Abreu, for the start of operations at the Cabinda Maritime Terminal. The breakwater and docking ramp works are also expected to be completed that month.

The governor said that the passenger and cargo vessel that will link Luanda, Soyo and Cabinda will start operating within three months, more specifically in July.

Ricardo de Abreu also said that the ferryboat will respond to the "geographical interruption" that has forced the government to create new access lines to the northern region of the country.

Cited by Angop, the Transport Minister emphasized that all the teams involved in the project are working hard in order to start the operations of the terminal within three months.

For this project, the Transport Ministry has the support of the Finance Ministry and the Court of Auditors, said Ricardo de Abreu, explaining that the departments and services of these entities are responsible for providing resources that guarantee the concretization of the contracts and, consequently, the advance of the project.

The Cabinda Maritime Terminal was created to help with the mobility of people from Cabinda to the rest of the country, by sea, through the Ferryboat-Cabinda - a vessel with 48 meters long and capable of carrying 60 people, nine containers and ten cars, among other types of cargo.

According to Angop, the project, which began to be implemented in 2017, is composed of an embarkation room and a disembarkation room, both with capacity for 150 people, VIP room, luggage area, sanitary facilities, elevators, among others.
