Covid-19: country records 89 cases in the last 24 hours

The country has registered 89 more cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours and 21 people have recovered from the disease, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health released this Sunday.

The infections were reported in Luanda (72), Cabinda (7), Huila (6), Bengo (1), Kwanza Sul (1), Namibe (1) and Zaire (1), aged between 7 and 95 years, 51 males and 38 females.

No deaths were reported and 21 people recovered from the disease, aged between 17 and 71 years.

The laboratories processed 1547 samples by RT-PCR, in a cumulative that points to 471.294 samples.

Angola counts 24,839 covid-19 cases, of which 22,597 have recovered, 1231 are active (including seven critical and 18 severe), and 561 have died.

The pandemic of covid-19 has caused at least 3,011,975 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 140.6 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
