Covid-19: Angola registered 52 new infections and two deaths in the last 24 hours

Angola has registered 52 new cases and two deaths in the last 24 hours, and has recovered eight people, health authorities said.

The epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health indicates that the deaths were reported in Luanda, in citizens aged 50 and 68 years, and the recoveries occurred five in Luanda, three in Huambo.

With this Sunday's data, the country counts a total of 22.631 positive cases, of which 542 deaths, 20.879 recovered and 1210 active, being three in critical condition, ten severe, 42 moderate, 33 light and 1122 asymptomatic.

In the period in reference, the laboratories processed 3257 samples by RT-PCR, pointing the cumulative to 440-950 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 5.2 percent.

At the entry and exit points in Luanda, 457 people were tested on the basis of rapid serological tests, with antigen complementation in reactive cases.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,847,182 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 130.6 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
