According to a presidential order of April 1, to which Lusa had access today, the guarantee aims to enable the financing agreement so that TAAG can acquire six Havilland-Dash-8 aircraft, “within the framework of the restructuring and diversification” of aircraft fleet.
The agreement will be concluded between TAAG and the banking syndicate represented by ABSA Bank Limited.
In exchange for issuing a sovereign guarantee, the airline will have to pay a fee corresponding to 01 percent of the financing amount.
TAAG should also report monthly to the Ministry of Finance on the degree of execution of the company's restructuring plan.
The airline TAAG announced the acquisition of the aircraft from Canadian aeronautical manufacturer De Havilland Aircraft in June 2019, at the 53rd International Salon in Paris.
