The information was transmitted by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Manuel Homem, referring that under the contingency plan the operators "will continue to guarantee communication services".

"So that citizens have the necessary information at this stage, but also to allow us not to stop the services of companies in need of these services," said the minister.

Speaking to journalists at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, where 264 Cuban doctors disembarked, Manuel Homem recognized the telecommunications needs of citizens in isolation.

"There is a program in progress that allowed us to have access to a package with messages, voice and data during these fifteen days, we will reevaluate these services that we provide due to the extension of the state of emergency to guarantee its continuity", he assured.

The country started to fulfill this Saturday, April 11, another fifteen days of state of emergency in order to contain the spread of covid-19, which has already affected 19 people, among which 15 cases are in recovery, two people have died and two are recovered.

A special monthly free package of telecommunications services per subscriber, mainly to guarantee minimum voice, messaging and Internet services to citizens, was guaranteed during this period and will now be reassessed.
