Lack of security and lack of respect for the rules of the state of emergency closed five markets in Luanda

The administration in Viana, Luanda, decided to close five markets. The measure, adopted on Tuesday, was taken after it was noted that there was a lack of security and that the rules of the state of emergency were not being met.

According to Fernando Eduardo Manuel, administrator of the municipality of Viana, the markets of Kilómetro 30, Regedoria, Zango, Vila Flor and Luanda Sul were closed. Quoted by Angop, the manager said that there was a lack of organization in these markets, leading to the concentration of several people inside the markets.

However, Fernando Eduardo Manuel considered that the smaller markets - such as Zango, Regadoria, Vila Flor and Luanda - may open again this Wednesday if they meet the conditions to do so.

As for the Kilometer 30 market, he did not give dates of when it will open again, explaining that as it is a larger market it may take longer to reach the conditions necessary to reopen.
