Covid-19: Markets with short timetables

The opening hours of the country's markets will be reduced. The measure was decided on the basis of the State of Emergency, decreed in Angola, to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

:

The markets will be open to the public between 6 am and 1 pm, revealed the Minister of Territory Administration and State Reform, Adão de Almeida.

The minister, cited by Angop, said that the markets will sell only essential goods, such as food, hygiene products and gas.

Adão de Almeida also made it known that individual street sales are still allowed, but that the safety standards imposed by the health authorities - a distance of at least one meter between consumer and seller - must be met. However, he recalled that street vendors cannot all concentrate in the same place.

Exporting goods from the basic basket, medicines, fuel, among others, outside Angola was also prohibited, the minister said, adding that sanitary fences will be set up between provinces to prohibit inter-provincial entry and exit, with the exception of essential and sick goods.
