The civil requisition of health professionals is part of the exceptional and temporary measures for the prevention and control of the covid-19 pandemic, according to the order that came into force on Tuesday.
The requested professionals must present themselves in the places and days to be defined by the provincial health offices in their area of residence, which, after evaluation, must distribute them to quarantine centers or reference units for the treatment of patients with covid-19.
The Ministry of Health will pay salaries and allowances according to the exit category of each professional.
The provincial offices will define the modalities of the work regime and will have to report to the Ministry of Health the implementation of the dispatch.
Angola currently has 17 positive cases of the disease, two of which have resulted in death.
The new coronavirus, responsible for the covid-19 pandemic, has already infected more than 1.3 million people worldwide, of whom more than 75 thousand have died.
Of the cases of infection, around 290,000 are considered cured.
The number of deaths due to covid-19 in Africa has risen to 487 out of a universe of 10,075 registered cases in 52 countries, according to the latest pandemic data update on the continent.
