Under normal conditions, the companies in Group B would pay the tax at the end of this month, on 30 April, and those in Group A would have to pay it by 31 May. Now, according to the Presidential Decree published on 9 April, companies in Group B would be able to pay the tax by 29 May and those in Group A would have to pay it by 30 June.
The measure is part of a set of measures adopted by the executive under covid-19 and aims to help companies reduce the economic impact that the pandemic has had on the economy.
According to a note from the General Tax Administration (AGT), cited by Angop, the deadline for payment of the Urban Property Tax has also changed: it can be paid in four instalments until October.
The Government has exempted companies from paying Value Added Tax (VAT) and tax duties on imported goods for humanitarian aid and donations.
