Government extends industrial tax payment period

The deadline for payment of industrial tax will be extended. The decision was decreed by the government as one of the measures to combat the covid-19 pandemic, which led to the extension of the state of emergency in the country.

:

Under normal conditions, the companies in Group B would pay the tax at the end of this month, on 30 April, and those in Group A would have to pay it by 31 May. Now, according to the Presidential Decree published on 9 April, companies in Group B would be able to pay the tax by 29 May and those in Group A would have to pay it by 30 June.

The measure is part of a set of measures adopted by the executive under covid-19 and aims to help companies reduce the economic impact that the pandemic has had on the economy.

According to a note from the General Tax Administration (AGT), cited by Angop, the deadline for payment of the Urban Property Tax has also changed: it can be paid in four instalments until October.

The Government has exempted companies from paying Value Added Tax (VAT) and tax duties on imported goods for humanitarian aid and donations.
