According to a statement from the Government of the Province of Cuanza Norte, to which VerAngola had access, the interest was expressed by Nigerian investors, who paid a visit to the municipality of Cambambe last Saturday.

"Kwanza Norte can be a pilot province in the production of green energy to replicate the experience in other provinces of the country. The interest comes from investors from Nigeria who worked this Saturday, 23, in the municipality of Cambambe where they were received by the Provincial Governor, João Diogo Gaspar", the note reads.

If the investment intention comes to fruition, which will use a "revolutionary technology", the country could become the largest green hydrogen production center on the African continent, the product from which it is possible to extract various by-products for export, such as example ammonia, which is the main component used in the production of fertilizers.

On the occasion, Fiji Ejindu, president of the Angola-Nigeria Business Council and who headed the delegation of Nigerian investors who visited the aforementioned municipality, considered that the province of Cuanza Norte has "vast arable land, lots of electricity and abundant water", which are considered essential factors to ensure "business viability".

Quoted in the statement, the president of the Angola-Nigeria Business Council said that the green hydrogen project will be based "on the creation of an industrial complex that compares surplus energy and extracts different products for domestic consumption and export".

In turn, João Diogo Gaspar, governor of Cuanza Norte, highlighted the "importance of these Nigerian investments in boosting the province's economy and creating several jobs, and guaranteed to actively commit to mobilizing all institutional support so that they can be implemented in this part of the country", reads the statement.

During the visit to the municipality, the delegation visited the local hydroelectric dam, as well as other areas of interest. The agenda also included a meeting with provincial authorities, where they were informed of the general picture of the province's potential.
