"It is in a testing phase and we hope that within 10 days we will have it operational, and this entry into operation can, of course, be brought forward depending on any possible constraints that may or may not exist by this deadline", stated the secretary of State for Energy, cited by Public Television of Angola (TPA).
Speaking as part of an inspection visit to the photovoltaic plant, the person in charge also said that the problem of supplying electricity to the municipalities of that province is also being resolved: "There are already actions, therefore, we have issued clear guidelines to the public electricity company production of electricity in order to improve the production capacity in these municipalities in the short term and, certainly, that very soon we will have this situation reversed".
In turn, João Pedro, responsible for MCA, said that the progress of the plant's project is at a "good pace". "We are on a good track, we are within the program. Our forecast managed to be aligned with the schedule. It is planned to energize the park at the end of this month (...)", he pointed out.
According to TPA, 44,850 panels were assembled, occupying 41 thousand hectares. More than 171 thousand inhabitants will benefit from this project.
According to a note from the Government of Lunda Sul, to which VerAngola had access, this plant will produce 27 megawatts of clean energy.
In addition to the plant, Arlindo Carlos, who was accompanied by the vice-governor for the technical sector and infrastructure, Cláudio Pemessa, also noted "the level of operation of the Txicumina and Nhama thermal plants, network expansion work in the conduril area and the construction works of PS0 in the Luavur neighborhood".
