Last Saturday, the operator reported that its services were being affected by "instability" in the network due to an "occurrence" that was not specified.
On 17 February, Unitel registered at 5:30 pm local time a "breakdown of an important equipment included in one of the main data processing centers" in Luanda, which resulted in the unavailability of voice, data and SMS services until 10:30 pm of the same day.
The operator only guaranteed "total integrity" and return to normal services 24 hours later.
Contacted by Lusa, Unitel confirms the "disturbances" in its voice and SMS services, promising to give new information soon, without adding further details.
