According to the general manager of the consortium, Khalid Jaffer, the new factory will be dedicated to the detergent sector, comprising an investment of around 17 million dollars. The industrial unit may start operating later this year, as the completion of the works is scheduled for November.
To the market, the official said that the new infrastructure will increase the production lines of the brand, which has been focusing on small-sized packaging, so that the detergents of the SICIE group can reach a greater number of consumers. About 350 workers will guarantee the operation of this new unit.
As a whole, the group produces a wide range of hygiene products, including napkins, sanitary towels, tissues and diapers for babies and adults. According to the administrator, the company holds 70 percent of the market share for these products.
Present in the national market for more than 25 years, SICIE employs around 1,200 workers, although it struggles with the shortage of qualified labor.
In Viana, where its manufacturing facilities are located, it houses 37 production lines, with its own stores for selling products in 12 provinces of the country.
