Mosel Group invests two million in fruit tea factory that should open next year

Two million dollars was the value of the investment made by the Mosel group, last year, in the municipality of Conda (Cuanza Sul), to build a tea factory with flavors of tropical fruits. Scheduled to open next year, the unit will produce six varieties of teas.

Among the varieties of teas with flavors of tropical fruits to be manufactured by the unit, for example, avocado, pineapple, mango and passion fruit stand out.

According to the newspaper Mercado, it is estimated that in an initial phase, four tons of tea are produced monthly by the factory – funded under Notice 10 of the Program for Supporting Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports (Prodesi).

The construction of the industrial unit is currently underway, with the factory expected to start operating during the first three months of 2023.

Regarding the status of the project, Edison Mayer Faria, group administrator, quoted by Mercado, informed that the assembly of the ship is being finalized, where the equipment coming from China will be placed by the end of the year.

According to the same newspaper, the group also has an agricultural project with a view to guaranteeing the operation of the factory.

With an area of ​​350 hectares, the project will contribute to simplifying the development of fruit crops.

According to the official, quoted by the Mercado, six hectares will be used for passion fruit cultivation, with plans to increase to 15 hectares. Already eight hectares will be reserved for pineapple, an increase estimated to 30. Mango and avocado will fill an area where 2000 seedlings of each type will be sown, writes the Mercado.
