Vaccination against covid-19 in Luanda resumes this Tuesday

The covid-19 vaccination process in the capital will resume this Tuesday, after being suspended for two days to give vaccinators a chance to rest.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, since the vaccination process started on March 2, 71.378 people have already been vaccinated against covid-19.

He also said that the vaccination process has already started in Luanda, Cabinda and Benguela, and that soon it is expected to be extended to the provinces of Huambo and Huíla.

In the capital, the vaccines are being administered at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem Institute of Police Sciences, the Paz Flor Tourist Centre, the Special Economic Zone, the Mutu-ya-Kevela Primary School and the Cidade Alta Garden, Angop reported.

For now, health professionals, teachers, elderly over 65 years old with comorbidities, members of the country's defense and security bodies and over 18 years old with chronic renal failure are being prioritized.

Recall that earlier this month, the country received 624,000 doses of the covid-19 vaccine.
