Chevron oil company suspends exploration in Cabinda

The oil company Chevron suspended the exploration of all platforms in deep waters in the sea of Cabinda indefinitely. At the base are the financial damage caused by covid-19.

Currently, only two platforms are in operation to supply natural gas to Malembo and Soyo.

The rest were suspended due to the lack of oil flow as all reservoirs are full.

The employees of the North American oil company, a subsidiary of Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited, are at home, for a period of 40 days, waiting for the evolution of the pandemic in the country.

So far, Angola has three infected cases and the President has already decreed a state of emergency, which will start on Friday.
