Clean-up work completed on beaches in Cabinda

The National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) announced that the cleanup has been completed on the beaches of Malembo, Chinfuca and Zenga, in Cabinda, after the spill that affected a six-kilometer stretch.

"Since the 30th, the beaches that had been affected in an approximate extension of six kilometers on land, near Block 0, operated by CABGOC", a subsidiary of the North American Chevron, are now free of hydrocarbon stains, it indicates. the ANPG in a statement.

According to the oil concessionaire, laboratory results of the collected samples indicate that the hydrocarbon analysis is compatible with one of the reservoirs of the Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC).

The leak occurred on January 21 and anomalies are being investigated in a pipeline located in Area B, Block 0.

Although CABGOC's production operations continue to function normally, production at the Lomba platform has been interrupted since the 23rd, and work to verify the integrity of operations in all fields is ongoing, ANPG added.

Cabinda province is the main source of oil production in the country, with Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC) being the main operator in the region.
