In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the Executive informs that "the construction of 300 social houses in the municipality of Cazengo, province of Cuanza Norte, will be resumed in the near future".
"Through Presidential Order No. 70/25, of February 20, the President of the Republic authorizes the termination of previous contracts and the corresponding inspection service, as well as authorizes the expenditure and the opening of a new simplified contracting procedure", says the note.
This measure, says the Executive, aims to "resettle families affected by high-intensity storms that affected several neighborhoods in the municipality of Cazengo, leaving them in precarious conditions since 2023".
The works were stopped due to "contractual breaches by some companies responsible for the execution, authorized by Presidential Order No. 132/22, of May 24".
This new authorization provides for the construction of 150 social residences of type T3-A and the remaining 150 of type T3-C.
"The new project includes the construction of 150 T3-A social houses in the Km 11 neighborhood, Lot 1, with an investment of 4.8 billion kwanzas, and 150 T3-C houses in the Km 11 neighborhood, Lot 3, at a cost of 4.6 billion kwanzas," the note states.
Regarding the supervision of the works, an investment of over 523 million kwanzas was authorized.
According to the Government, the provincial governor of Cuanza Norte was "delegated the power to approve the procedural documents, verify the validity and legality of the acts and conclude new contracts", while the Ministry of Finance is responsible for ensuring the financial resources necessary to execute the contracts.
