In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, IGAPE states that the public tender to privatize this asset has been concluded.

"Within the scope of the Privatization Program (Propriv) 2023-2026, the State Assets and Participation Management Institute informs that Public Tender No. 02/2023 for the privatization of the Complexo de Silos de Catete has been concluded", reads the statement.

Thus, after completing the steps foreseen "in the procedural documents and based on the established award criteria, the Complexo de Silos de Catete was awarded to the company S.O.I.G.E.A. – Sociedade de Investimento e Gestão de Empreendimentos Agrícolas, (SU), Lda".

This award, says the institute, "represents the signing of a contract with a global value of 951,500,000.00 kwanzas (nine hundred and fifty-one million, five hundred thousand kwanzas)".

IGAPE recalls that the competition was launched on December 1st of last year, having completed "all necessary administrative procedures, in accordance with the respective Parts and the Basic Law on Privatizations".

In addition to the Catete Silos Complex, IGAPE informed – in another statement, to which VerAngola had access – that the public tender to privatize two industrial units installed in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE) was also concluded, namely Indutubo and Mecametal.

"After completing the phases foreseen in the procedural documents and based on the predicted award criteria, the Indutubo industrial unit was awarded to the company Nova Fibrex, Lda., while the Mecametal industrial unit was not awarded due to the fact that the winning bidder had not submitted the deposit of the bid amount within the period stipulated for this purpose", reads the note.

According to IGAPE, the award of Indutubo "represents the signing of a contract with a global value of 1,850,000,000.00 kwanzas (one thousand, eight hundred and fifty million kwanzas)".

IGAPE also informs that Mecametal will once again be submitted to a public tender via electronic auction, on a date to be announced.
