"The works at the General Hospital of Viana and Cacuaco are advanced", stated the holder of the Health portfolio, as part of a visit she carried out, last Saturday, to check the level of execution of the works at the hospital units.
Quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Health, to which VerAngola had access, Sílvia Lutucuta explained that it will "comply with the agreed date of April, this for Viana". In other words, the future General Hospital of Viana should open its doors in April.
On the occasion, the minister also made it known that the Américo Boavida Hospital "will close in its entirety and the human resources, including management, will all be transferred to the Viana Hospital".
Regarding Cacuaco, "the contractor increased the differentiated workforce due to the two-month delay and the minister believes that the agreements will be complied with by April, compared to the Cacuaco General Hospital", the note reads.
According to the minister, cited by Angop, the contract for the Hospital Geral do Sequele, in the municipality of Cacuaco, has a physical and financial execution of 88.15 percent, with its opening scheduled for May.
Both hospitals will have a capacity of 300 beds, among several other services. In terms of human resources, the Viana hospital could have 1200 workers, including doctors, nurses, imaging and laboratory technicians, while the Sequele hospital will have more than 1000 professionals, who are currently undergoing training.
