João Lourenço notes works at the General Hospital of Viana

This Friday morning, the President, João Lourenço traveled to the district of Zango to check the state of the works at the General Hospital of Viana. The unit contract – estimated at around 132.6 billion dollars – is about 55 percent complete, and is estimated to be ready by the end of next year.

Assuming the same dimensions as the Luanda General Hospital, the unit is being built in a perimeter of 25 thousand square meters.

According to Angop, it will have a capacity for 300 beds as well as five operating rooms, eight inpatient wards, a centralized diagnosis centre, among others.

In addition, the infrastructure will accommodate 1200 employees, namely doctors, nurses, health technicians and laboratory technicians.

Also this Friday, the head of state also made a stop in the vicinity of the future General Hospital of Cacuaco, located in Sequele.

Deadlines indicate that this hospital will be ready next year. According to Mário Assis, from Interservices, the project is more than 40 percent complete.

Cited by Angop, the official also informed that the General Hospital of Cacuaco will have a capacity for 300 beds as well as oncology, dialysis, chemotherapy, emergency services, among others, and a car park capable of accommodating around 300 cars.
