To carry out this delivery, according to the secretariat, more than 10,000 essential medicine kits were purchased.
"The Ministry of Health purchased more than 10,000 essential medicine kits to distribute to health units. The expenditure, using ordinary treasury resources, will strengthen the National System, especially in terms of primary health care in the country's 21 provinces," the statement reads.
Of this purchase, more than 3000 kits were delivered under World Bank financing, and, in addition to medicines, motorcycles were also distributed.
"The minister also emphasized that, of this large acquisition, which included motorcycles and IT equipment, more than 3000 kits were delivered through World Bank financing," the statement reads.
During the ceremony, held this Thursday at the Central Purchasing and Supply of Medicines and Medical Resources (CECOMA), Sílvia Lutucuta "considered the act a continuation of the commitment to the health and well-being of the Angolan people, especially those in the most remote areas."
The Minister of Health also highlighted "the gesture as a symbol of an urgent effort to reach all children who have not yet received a single dose of the 'Zero-Dose' vaccine."
According to the Minister, the action "will also guarantee access to timely treatment for the most common diseases, as well as the modernization and efficiency of health services so that they increasingly provide people-centered health care."
According to a statement, cited by Jornal de Angola, Cuanza Sul was the province that received the most motorcycles, a total of 20. It is followed by Bié (18 motorcycles), Cunene (15), Luanda (13), Huambo (12) and Icolo and Bengo (two).
