Border between Angola and Namibia opened this Wednesday

Technical issues led to the postponement of the opening of the border between Angola and Namibia, scheduled for Tuesday, February 1st. However, the opening of the border, which has been closed for almost two years – since March 2020 – due to covid-19, was rescheduled for this Wednesday.

The information was provided by a source from the local government who, quoted by Angop, explained that the opening was postponed for technical reasons.

According to the governor of the Ohangwena region, in Namibia, Walde Ndevashiya, informed that the security conditions for the movement of citizens without the spread of covid-19 are created.

Cited by Angop, the official said that teams are ready to measure the temperature as well as control the vaccination card.

It is recalled that the announcement of the opening of the border was made last month.
