Sale of stakes yields more than 410 million dollars to General Dino

The sale of stakes in Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) and Puma Energy earned to the General Leopoldino Fragoso do Nascimento 'Dino' more than 410 million dollars.

:

It is recalled that in February of this year, the general sold the three percent stake he held in BAI and, in December of last year, he sold the three percent he owned in Puma Energy. According to Expansão, these sales allowed the general to amass more than 410 million dollars.

However, despite raising some money with these disposals, its business universe has lost strength. According to the same newspaper, in 2018, the general was present in about 12 sectors of the national economy, but in recent times his presence has been decreasing.

In addition to the disposals of the shares, the general also handed over some assets to the State, notably the Kero supermarkets, the Media Nova group, the cement and beer factories as well as several properties.

With this operation, the general's presence in the 12 economic sectors was reduced by half, writes Expansão.

Subsequently, the sale of the stake in BAI and Puma Energy signaled the general's departure from the banking and oil products distribution sectors, causing the number of sectors that no longer belong to the general's universe to increase from six to eight.

It should be noted that, days before he sold his stake in Puma Energy, General 'Dino' resigned as vice-president of Unitel.

The sale of the shares and the resignation of the position at Unitel came after the United States of America (USA) imposed sanctions and froze the assets of General 'Dino' as well as General Manuel Hélder Vieira Dias Júnior 'Kopelipa' in that country.
