After meeting Unitel general Dino sells position in Puma Energy

The well-known Angolan general Leopoldino Fragoso do Nascimento (Dino), got rid of the three percent he had left in Puma Energy, after being the target of sanctions by the United States of America.

:

News that the general is no longer a shareholder in Puma Energy, a fuel distribution company majority-owned by Trafigura, was advanced by Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Negócios. The publication states that Leopoldino took this position after seeing his bank accounts frozen by US authorities.

The US reportedly classified Generals Dino and Kopelipa (Manuel Hélder Vieira Dias), both linked to former President José Eduardo dos Santos, as "former government officials who stole billions of dollars from the Angolan government through embezzlement."

With regard to the sale of the position in Puma Energy, the transaction was carried out through Cochan, the holding where the general concentrates his business interests. The value of the deal was not revealed.

As a result, Negócios adds, Trafigura now holds 96.6 percent of Puma Energy's shares.

It should be remembered that this month, the general resigned as vice-president of the Board of the General Assembly of Unitel. This was a way to protect the telecommunications operator from the sanctions imposed on it, as it controls 25 percent of its capital through the Geni company.
