It was on 23 December that the Court seized Isabel dos Santos' assets. In the order, the court stated that if the State wanted to take legal action against the businesswoman it would have to do so within the next 30 days.
According to the news agency Angop, the deadline was January 30, when the judicial vacation was taking place. For this reason, the deadline was suspended until the new judicial year began.
The new judicial year starts at the beginning of March, and it is estimated that the lawsuit will start to be considered by the court at that time.
In the lawsuit, the State asks the businesswoman to pay compensation of USD 1,136,996.
