In a press release, quoted by Angop, the Angolan PGR states that, as the entity responsible for the preparatory institution for criminal and legal proceedings, it will continue to exercise its role in the ongoing cases against Isabel dos Santos.
This was the reaction on the part of the Public Prosecutor's Office, taking into account information that advanced that the PGR had been holding “negotiations with the citizen Isabel dos Santos or her representatives, in the context of the ongoing legal proceedings”.
The document, which Angop had access to, underlines that there is no positioning, manifestation or act by the PGR regarding any negotiation initiative regarding the processes - criminal and civil - that are taking place against the businesswoman.
Isabel dos Santos was notified by PGR, in August 2018, to provide clarifications about her management at Sonangol, as former chairman of the Board of Directors. This clarification did not materialize, followed by the seizure of the businesswoman's assets in Angola and the 'Luanda Leaks' scandal.
