The game is scheduled for 5pm local time (6pm in Angola), at the Estádio da Paz, in Bouaké, where the Palancas Negras will meet their counterpart from Namibia on the field to compete for a place in the next phase of the championship.

Angola recorded two wins and a draw in the group stage, having entered the 'eighth' to occupy first place in group D, also composed of Algeria, Mauritania and Burkina Faso.

However, the national team's passage through CAN2023 has been troubled: Beni Mukendi resigned from the national team the day before the game with Burkina Faso, Loide Augusto was released and now Núrio Fortuna's injury made him leave the team.

According to the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), the vacancy left by Loide Augusto will be filled by Inácio Miguel, from Petro de Luanda.

"The athlete Inácio Miguel (Petro de Luanda), has already joined the national team. Inácio, fills the vacancy in the defense opened by Loide Augusto", informed the FAF, in a note to which VerAngola had access.

Inácio Miguel joins the list of substitutes which, according to Angop, also includes Gelson, Chico Banza and Depú.

Despite the difficult path, Angola is in the round of 16 of the competition and, having qualified, raised 800 thousand dollars.

According to the African Football Confederation (CAF) – which, according to Angop, decided to increase monetary prizes, aiming to elevate the sport to excellence – the teams that qualify for the 'eighth' will receive 800 thousand dollars, while those that progress to the quarter-finalists will receive 1.3 million dollars.

The winner of CAN2023 will receive seven million dollars, the team that finishes in second place will receive five million dollars, while the four semi-finalists will benefit from 2.5 million each.
