"The 5 percent that is being, from now on, impacted on the public service salary" has other impacts because "reflective of these salaries are also the subsidies, which are calculated based on the base salary", stated the minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security.
Teresa Rodrigues Dias, who was speaking to journalists at the end of the first extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers, chaired this Wednesday by the President, João Lourenço, said that the adjustment to the basic salary of the public service results from RINAR and the 2024 Budget.
The Council of Ministers, in addition to approving the increase in the base salary for civil servants, also considered in this session, for submission to parliament, the proposals for the Law on Anti-Doping in Sports and the Law to Combat Illegal Mining Activity, and approved a presidential decree which creates the Order of Biologists of Angola.
Palmira Barbosa, Minister of Youth and Sports, highlighted the importance of the anti-doping law, noting that the creation of the Angolan Anti-Doping Authority is underway in the country.
"Although an integrated system to combat the use of doping substances in sport does not yet exist in the country, and the creation of the competent national body, the Angolan Anti-Doping Authority, is in an embryonic stage, Angola has been diligently committed to implementing effective mechanisms that have allowed the fight against the consumption of banned substances in sport to be brought to a successful conclusion", assured the minister.
The first session of the Council of Ministers in 2024 also considered a draft decree that changes the organization and functioning regime of the Auxiliary Bodies of the President of the Republic.
