The information is contained in the OGE 2024 justification report, consulted this Wednesday by Lusa, which also presents the overall numbers of the budget proposal and the respective channeling of them in the next economic year.

According to the document, OGE 2024 includes an amount of 50 billion kwanzas to ensure new hirings, promotions and career progression of public administration professionals.

"As a result of the 5 percent salary adjustment in the civil service and the additional of these measures, it is expected that the wage bill will increase by 8.6 percent", states the report.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the commitment to continue supporting the promotion of private initiatives that accelerate job creation is also maintained.

To accelerate job creation, the executive will, under the coordination of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, start with the implementation of the Diversifica Mais Project (Project to Accelerate Economic Diversification and Job Creation) to be implemented by 2029, financed by the Bank World Cup worth 300 million dollars.

With the implementation of the aforementioned project, the authorities estimate that 6257 direct jobs will be created "as a result of the project's activities and taking into account the types of interventions included in the project, they will produce 81,000 indirect jobs".

Increasing private investment and the growth of micro, small and medium-sized companies in non-oil value chains, particularly in the Lobito corridor, are also among the project's purposes.

The OGE 2024 background report, which estimates revenues and establishes expenses of 24.7 billion kwanzas, also highlights that the executive will begin operationalizing the National Employment Fund (FNE) in 2024.

To implement the FNE, an instrument for implementing the National Employment Program, approved last week by the Council of Ministers, the OGE 2024 includes an amount of 10.0 billion kwanzas.

Promoting employment and entrepreneurship are some of the objectives of the National Employment Program.

The OGE 2024 proposal is already at the National Assembly for discussion and final approval.
