The information was given at a press conference by the director of public health, Helga Freitas, according to which there are no records of cholera cases.
"At the moment we have no cases of cholera in the country. We are at level 2 due to the cases registered in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo", said the official quoted by Jornal de Angola.
Helga Freitas said that Angola is reinforcing surveillance, preparation and training of technicians, while at the level of provinces and municipalities “the distribution of treated water to the populations is being reinforced".
The official explained that the maximum level is 3, when countries confirm cases of the disease.
“The Ministry of Health is positioning emergency ‘kits’ along the border and reinforcing all borders nationally,” she concluded.
