The president of the board of directors of ZEE-Luanda-Bengo said, at the time, that the signed agreement is the result of ZEE's internationalization strategy and that the WFZO regional office should "boost" the southern region of Africa.
"Because of our activities, the World Free Zones Organization understands that Angola is the ideal country to install its regional office in order to boost the entire southern region", said Manuel Francisco Pedro.
"We have been engaging our institution with international partners and the memorandum we have just signed is the result of this internationalization strategy", he added.
According to the official, the memorandum signed is also the result of the positions that ZEE has presented at meetings of the WFZO world council aiming to support countries in the southern region of the African continent.
"And based on this, it was discussed and we expressed the need for the World Organization of Free Zones to establish a regional office in Angola that will represent the entire southern region, mainly because of the interest expressed by this organization in the Lobito Corridor", he highlighted.
Regarding the actions of ZEE-Luanda-Bengo, Manuel Francisco Pedro also mentioned that the institution he heads signed, in 2023, 30 investment and/or industrial installation contracts, valued at 4 billion dollars.
