Standard Bank Group visits Angola and reinforces its ambition to continue investing in the country

A delegation from the Standard Bank Group, which is visiting Angola, met, this Monday, with the President of the Republic, Minister of Finance and the Governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA). The visit, according to the company, aimed to reinforce the group's ambition to continue investing in the country.

"A delegation from the Standard Bank Group is visiting Angola and was received yesterday [Monday] by the President of the Republic, the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the National Bank of Angola. Led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nonkululeko Nyembezi, by the CEO, Sim Tshabalala, and the Executive Director for the Africa Region, Yinka Sanni, the purpose of the visit was to reinforce Standard Bank Group's ambition to continue investing in the country, where it owns Standard Bank of Angola", informed the company, in a statement sent to VerAngola.

According to Sim Tshabalala, CEO of Standard Bank Group, Angola is considered "a very important country" for the group, and the objective in this country is to reinforce investment and growth.

"Angola is a very important country for the Standard Bank Group and we are confident in the future of this presence. In Angola we have a very clear objective: to reinforce investment and our growth", he said, quoted in the statement.

"This visit, which is precisely part of this strategy of expansion and closer ties with Angola, also aims to align the group's strategy with the country's strategy", he added.

In addition to holding meetings with the President of the Republic, the Minister of Finance and the governor of the BNA, the delegation's visit also included "meetings with the Board of Directors of Standard Bank of Angola, customers, partners and employees".

Sim Tshabalala also highlighted that the group wants to grow more and more on the African continent, with "Angola playing a fundamental role in fulfilling" this mission. "At Standard Bank Group we aim to grow more and more in Africa, and Angola plays a fundamental role in fulfilling this mission. Since 2010, the year we arrived in Angola, we have been working to consolidate our presence as a reference institution in the Angolan market , and we are confident in the future that lies ahead", he stated.

In turn, Luís Teles, CEO of Standard Bank of Angola, said that the visit "is of great importance for the institution".

"Our presence in Angola, for more than a decade, has been guided by always placing customers, partners and employees at the center of everything we do. This is our basic principle in building a financial institution that aims to evolve in the form to work, develop our people and change our culture", said the person in charge, who added: "Angola is our home and we believe that it is possible for us to grow and develop this country even further".
