The announcement of the return to 100% capacity of urban, intercity and interprovincial public transport was made on Friday by the Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado.

According to Francisco Furtado, transport can circulate with the maximum occupancy capacity, as long as passengers are required to comply with biosecurity measures, namely the use of a face mask and presentation of the vaccination certificate.

However, the taxi drivers have already made it known that they will maintain the strike, as only one of the points of their demands was verbally answered.

In a statement released on the Facebook page of the New Alliance of Angola Taxi Drivers (ANATA), the three associations that called for the strike (ANATA, Angola Taxi Drivers Association Luanda Taxi Drivers Association), demand more guarantees to demobilize the protest.

Among the remaining claims are the disrespect and excessive zeal of police agents against taxi drivers on public roads; failure to materialize the professionalization of the activity; prohibition of access to "blue-white" taxis (collective transport) in some arteries of the province of Luanda; bad condition of the roads; driver liability for incorrect use of masks by passengers; lack of respect and consideration by some governments against the leaders of taxi driver associations.

For this reason, the leaders of the taxi drivers' associations maintain the stoppage until the announcement made by Francisco Furtado to the press materializes, by order of the competent body, and they have answered the remaining points.
