The government of the southern province of China revealed this Friday in a statement that the park, located in the capital Changsha, will also feature Chinese chambers of commerce from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa.

The first 72 companies signed on Thursday the contracts for joining the park, including e-commerce companies, financial services, contractors and entrepreneurship incubators.

According to China Daily, the park is expected to reach a turnover of US $ 2 billion thanks to this group of companies.

More than 120 companies have already applied for the park, said the Chinese state daily.

The park, whose creation was announced in 2018, is part of the Hunan Free Trade Pilot Zone, created in September 2020 to promote trade between China and Africa.

Several institutions - including the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce - and government representatives from Portuguese-speaking countries had been present at the first edition of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Exhibition, which took place in Changsha in 2019.

At the time, it was announced that Hunan Province would host the event every two years.
