The new coach of Interclube's main football team will be presented this Tuesday, December 5th. According to a statement from Interclube, to which VerAngola had access, the press conference to introduce the new coach will take place in the club's event hall, at 1pm.
Replacing Luís Gonçalves was, this Tuesday, announced the hiring of Angolan coach Mateus Agostinho 'Bodunha', a former Sporting de Braga defender, who promised a different team at Girabola.
"Despite taking command in the seventh round of the national championship, I will still treat it as if it were the first. And the objective of all of us is directed towards this tuning fork. We are prepared for the new challenge," he said.
The president of Interclube, Alexandre Canelas, regretted the team's poor start in the Angolan championship.
"We had a start to the season that was not desired by the club's management and the membership. Everything that was planned was conditioned, but we will work to overcome this bad moment", he stated.
Interclube's journey at Girabola has not been the happiest, just look at the most recent results. In its last game, played last Sunday, Interclube lost at home against São Salvado do Kongo (0-1). In the previous match, played on November 30th, Interclube also lost at home against Desportivo da Lunda Sul (0-2).
Overall, Interclube has two defeats, one victory and two draws at Girabola, occupying 12th place in the league table.
It should be noted that coach Luís Gonçalves took the helm of Interclube last season, replacing Rogério Gonçalves, who guided the team for four months and left it due to family reasons.
