Benguela Hospital reopens neonatology room with double the capacity

A new neonatology room for pediatrics at the Benguela General Hospital was reopened this Thursday to provide better service to newborns.

:

With the reopening of the new neonatology, the capacity increased from 10 to 24 cots and/or incubators, says the provincial government in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

On the occasion, the director of the General Hospital of Benguela, Divane Marcolino, said that with this gain it will be possible to admit more children to neonatology services with better habitability, and with more space for doctors and nurses to work.

The person in charge also mentioned that it is also planned to open a room adjacent to the neonatology room for mothers with hospitalized newborns, with the aim of keeping them at a short distance taking into account their needs, especially with regard to breast-feeding.
