HGL suspends doctor who allegedly assaulted father of 15-year-old patient who died

The Luanda General Hospital (HGL) decided to suspend the doctor who allegedly attacked the father of a 15-year-old patient, who entered emergency services in critical condition and died "due to alleged medical negligence".

The hospital, in a statement – cited by the Government of the Province of Luanda – informs that the facts date back to last Sunday. According to the note, on December 17th, "due to alleged medical negligence", the patient Fernando João Cassule, aged 15, died, "who was admitted to the emergency services in a critical clinical condition".

Thus, according to the note, "a multisectoral investigation team was created to investigate the facts".

The HGL also informs that "the doctor on duty has been suspended with immediate effect".

The hospital also says that it maintains the "inalienable commitment to ethics and deontology, to the humanization of services", reiterating the "commitment to do everything so that, once the facts are established, the exemplary responsibility of those involved is held, in ways to prevent episodes of this nature will happen again."
